Take your advanced degree and shove it

Ever since I first started at Brown people have asked me, “So what’s next? Do you want to go to grad school?” And the answer is a resounding NO. I feel that with my bachelors and my skills and determination and I can go just as far (if not further in some cases) as someone who has a masters. Of course, it depends on the field you’re looking in, but for me, grad school just never made any sense. I mean, if I get a job that requires I take some additional classes and whatnot (and they pay for said classes), I mean duh, of course I’d do that. But going further into debt over school when I really don’t need to is completely pointless and wasteful to me.

Anyways, I read these two articles today that pretty much sum up how I feel about this matter. Peep ‘em:

Is Grad School a Good Place to Hide??

Don’t Want to Deal With the Recession? Go to Law School!

I'll pose the same question to my readers that ol boy over at The Root did to his:

I see the benefits of grad school for some, but I don’t think it’s necessary for all. What about you?
