I had the strangest dream last night. I've said before that I dream like a crackhead... it rings true yet again.

Well, I've been having these recurring dreams that take place inside the dorm I used to live in for 2 years at Brown (that would be West Andrews, hollaaa). In the dreams, I'm a senior again and they've "upgraded" my room for the semester. Sometimes I'm staying in a room the size of an apartment, with bay windows and everything. A couple times I've had roommates, but a weird number of them--like, 3 or 4 sleeping in one tiny single room. In this last dream, there was a bathroom in my room (score!) and it was a large single, but the room itself was filled with someone else's belongings.

Ok, so the scene switches (there's no smooth transitions in Dreamland, folks) and I'm outside the dorm now. Except nothing looks the same in terms of the campus layout. There's like 5 huge new buildings totally ruining the landscape. I ask some dude I see where can I find such-and-such a building and I remember feeling like such a freshman asking that, because the building I was looking for is commonly used and well-known around campus. He points me in the right direction and, of course, the inside of that building is completely different than how I remember it. It sort of looks like the inside of an airport or a hospital inside--lots of open space, lots of hallways that all look the same.

So I'm chilling in this building, and my mom shows up. We sit around waiting (I don't know for what) and out of boredom I start walking around the building exploring and whatnot. I walk down one of the long hallways and I stumble upon a class lecture. In the dream I had right before this one (I wake up a few times during the night... then resume dreaming), I was in class and there was a party in the back row: me and some other kids, and also my cousins (who I did not go to school with in real life), were toasting something. Right in the middle of a lecture, ha. Well at the end of that dream, I realized two of my shot glasses were missing, they must have been left in the classroom we were partying in. So in this new dream, I really want to go into the class I just found to look for my shot glasses, but I was apprehensive about interrupting a lecture, with a classroom full of students, to ask if I could look for my shot glasses.

I go back to wait with my mom and one of my older cousins is manning the front desk. While we're all just sitting there, Bill O'Reilly comes in and sits right next to me. We start chatting and I remember being surprised he was even talking to me, he's so acerbic and hateful on his show. Well anyways, we're talking and I get to telling him how ultimately, I'd like a career in the publishing industry. I also asked how he broke into broadcast journalism. That's when he whisked me away to one of the libraries on campus, and started pulling all these loose papers out of drawers. On the tables in the library were remnants of another party that had taken place: empty cake platters and cake crumbs and streaks of frosting were all over. So we're trying to organize this slew of papers over tables covered in this mess without getting the papers themselves dirty. Ugh. While we're doing that, a whole bunch of black people start filling the library, like they were getting ready for another party or something. One big hefty lady offered me a piece of gum (I accepted. Total gum fiend here). So me, Bill O'Reilly, and this library full of random black folks are sitting around, and one of the black people gets up to speak, to make a toast or something... and that's when I wake up.

I know there is so very much going on in this dream, but I'd love to hear your interpretations of it. I already have my own, of course, but does this makes any kind of sense to anyone else?
