Happy New Year again folks, and *welcome* to my new readers and followers! I decided to go glittery glam with my nails again, this time with Nicole by OPI's Twist of Fate. Lemme just say I love love LOVE this look. It's over-the-top, gaudy, and so, so sparkly. Unf.
I achieved the look of the bottle in about 5-6 coats. That's a lot for a regular polish, but as I found with Glitz and Glisten, I didn't notice any goopy buildup from using so many coats. Also, clearly this isn't your average glitter polish. My nails look like money, I literally cannot tear my eyes away
This polish would have been great to ring in the new year with or for a weekend jaunt to Vegas, but I'll find any occasion to rock this look. Seriously, this polish makes such a statement, I'm gonna have to dress around my nails, haha.
A little background for the uninformed:
Both Glitz and Glisten and Twist of Fate are part of Nicole by OPI's Shades To Crave Collection Holiday 2010 and are sold exclusively at Target and a few similar retailers. Personally, G&G, Twist of Fate and another polish in the line, Pitch Black Glimmer (all glitters, though the line itself has a range of finishes) spoke to me the most out of this collection's offerings. I'm drawn to unusual polish colors, and the glittery fuchsia, gaudy gold and rare black, silver, and multi-color glitter polishes are indeed unusual shades for a holiday collection. Not only are the colors unique, the formula is chock full of glitter and builds up quite nicely on the nail.
Next, I'm totally looking forward to adding Pitch Black Glimmer to my collection. I've read it's not as opaque as G&G or Twist of Fate and looks best layered over a solid black polish. I loved the look in the bottle, like having the universe on your nails ::squee::
*FYI: I purchased this polish and all other items up for swatching and review with my own money. I have received no compensation for this post.
